See below for general information preparing for appointments:

Once you have booked your initial consultation with our Jointworks team you will be automatically sent a series of confirmation communications.

First, you will receive your booking confirmation with the time, date and practice location of your appointment. Please check this to ensure what you have booked is correct.

You will then receive a welcome email from our Head of Orthopaedic Surgery giving you an overview of what to expect at Jointworks. Finally, you will receive your new patient information forms. These are sent via email and by text. This is a secure submission process and links directly to our practice management software so your information is very secure. Please ensure you complete this as it will save you time and allow our team to adequately prepare for your consultation.

You will be given a choice of days and session times. Once booked, our team will triage your information and work out the most appropriate appointment for your injury and we will then contact you to confirm a time that works best.

We will go through your details as part of your triage and we willl contact you to request further imaging if required.

REFERRAL
While you do not need a referral to attend our fracture clinic but we prefer that you get one from your GP or referring specialist -

  • You need a referral to get back a portion of your consultation fee from Medicare
  • Your GP is an integral member of your helathcare team and we will want to communicate with them
  • A referral from the hospital ED needs to be addressed to one of our surgeons

Your GP referral lasts 12 months and a specialist referal lasts 3 months

IMAGING
Our surgeons can access imaging online from most imaging centres in Sydney. Our team will ask you for the centre where you had your imaging prior to the appoointemnt so we can look through them in advance.
If in doubt, bring your images

Please arrive at least 8 minutes before your booked appointment time to allow us to book you in and check you have all your information filled out correctly.

We do our very best to run to time but we understand that life can get in the way for you so please call us if you are running late.

If you have been asked to get imaging prior to the appointment, make sure you have plenty of time to get from the imaging centre to our consulting locations.

All fracture clinic appointments are booked online and payment details are taken at that point.

If you have any questions about costs, please raise them before you see the team.
